You must have been using simple head graphics (I think I no need to teach how to create such graphic smiley) to put as facebook emoticons while chatting to your friend. Today it was discovered by TechCrunch – Facebook Chat now let users to use the profile picture of their friends, Fan Pages, or event as an emoticons. For Instance, you can use your friend’s profile picture as emoticons while chatting to other friend.
Here’s The Way to Do it:
Step 1: Go to the profile or fan page you want to make out their profile pictures as emoticons.
Step 2: Find out the username they have for their facebook account in the URL (address bar of your browser). For instance, if I want to use this blog’s fan page picture as emoticon, I would have use its username – www.facebook.com/RealTimeTricks i.e. RealTimeTricks.
Step 3: Now put the username inside this double bracket – [[ for instance - [[RealTimeTricks]]
Step 4: Hit the enter button present in your keyboard to enter into the chat or message field. In a next moment the bracket & the username turns into that person’s current profile picture.
How to Get Username of the Person Having No Username:
Remember most of the people don’t select username for their facebook account in that case you can use the profile ID present at the end of the URL. For instance, if the URL of the person’s profile is like this https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000738416456 you have to use ID number (every profile has its unique profile ID) highlighted here as example.
Limitations of This New Facebook Features:
Though you can use these emoticons from anywhere using your facebook profile either from mobile or web, it works only in web. You could not see the emoticons while chatting through mobile nor the person chatting with you can see it. It will appear as bracketed string.
For Some Quick Emoticons to Use:
Just copy and paste the bracket text while chatting to your friend & amaze them. Hope you enjoy reading this? Share it!
